Rachel Struve to Continue Basketball Career at Northwestern

Struve4Rachel Struve of Paullina has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College next year.

Struve is a 5’11” wing/forward who played four years for South O’Brien High School. A third team all-state selection, Struve averaged 17.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and two steals in leading her team to a 19-4 overall record in 2013. She shot better than 50% from the field and earned all-conference and all-district honors for the third straight season.

Struve was a McDonald’s All-American all-star game nominee this year. A member of the National Honor Society, Struve plans to major in biology at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Paul and Cindy.

“We are very excited to welcome Rachel to our women’s basketball team and to our campus,” commented head coach Chris Yaw. “Rachel has demonstrated a pursuit of success, both academically and athletically, at South O’Brien. She values hard work and team work and will be a great fit to our basketball program, not only in her abilities on the court but also in her character.”
