School Fights City Hall and Wins

City of Scheldon & Sheldon School BoardSheldon, Iowa — The Halls of Education defeated City Hall 5-3 at the Grand Opening of the Sheldon Sports Complex Monday evening.

City Hall would jump to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the opening inning after Travis Klein would get the triple and was driven in by Aaron Prewitt. The Halls of education would respond in kind in the bottom of the inning. Justin Aalbers, Jared Reinking, and Eric Maassen would come into score to make it 3-1 heading into the 2nd. The School Board and District Staff would add another run in the bottom of the 2nd to make it 4-1. City Hall would jump back into the mix in the top of the 4th with a two-run inside the park home run by Todd Uhl to drive the score to 4-3, but the school would come away with a final run in the bottom of the 4th and take the win 5-3.

Curt Strouth took the loss for the City going 4 innings, and giving up 5 earned runs on 12 hits. Strouth also struck out 4.

Thad Dykstra got the complete game win. Dykstra gave up 3 earned runs on 10 hits while walking 1.
