Sheldon 7th Grade Football Teams End Season With Win And Tie

The Sheldon 7th grade football teams wrapped up their seasons at home against Sioux Center on Tuesday October 9th.

The Sheldon Orange posted a 20-6 win. Philip Cain led the ground game with 11 carries for 82 yards, a touchdown and 2 point conversion. Cain also scored on a 30 yard interception return for a score. Quarterback Jaden Kleinhesselink found Steve Collins for a 33 yard touchdown pass as well.

Defensively Kleinhesselink led the way with 6 tackles. Cain, Ryan Van Marel, Steven Van Meeteren and Koby Klatt each recovered a fumble.

 

 

The Orab Black team played to a 6-6 tie with Sioux Center .Sioux Center had scored with :29 seconds to play and went for the win. Dakota Peters stepped up from his linebacker position to get the stop and preserve the tie.

Blake Locke led the running game with 5 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown. Locke had a 60 yard run in the third quarter.

On defense Jose Martinez led the way with 7 tackles. Alec Johnson recovered a fumble and Nick Net intercepted a pass among the other defensive highlights.
