Sheldon Girls Win, Sheldon Boys Fall Against Sibley-Ocheyedan

Sheldon, Iowa – The Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals and Sheldon Orabs split a Siouxland Conference double header on Friday night at the O-Rena. The Sheldon girls got their first win of the season 63-30, while the Sheldon boys fell 57-37.

The Sheldon girls jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead, and later in the first went on a 13-0 run. After one, it was 20-4 Sheldon. Both teams traded baskets in the 2nd and heading into the intermission it was 28-13 still in favor of the Orabs. Sheldon guard Cassidy Bart had ten first half points. Kelli Greenfield for the Generals has 12 of the teams first half points.

Sheldon cruised in the second half. After three it was 48-20, and the Orabs went on to win 63-30.

Sheldon had 3 players in double figures. Brooklyn Grady had a team high 15 points, Emily Meyer had twelve, and Bart had ten. 8 different Orabs scored on the night. The Generals got a game high 17 from Kelli Greenfield
Sheldon improves to 1-4 on the year and in the conference. Sibley-Ocheyedan falls to 0-5 on the year and in the conference.

In the boy’s game, the Generals started out fast, and after one, had a 21-8 lead over the Orabs. In the second quarter, The Orabs would pull to within 4, but Sibley-Ocheyedan would pull away at the half leading 33-20. After three Sibley-Ocheyedan pushed the score to 45-26, and went on to win 57-37.

The Generals had two players in double figures. Caleb Mayer had a game high seventeen, while Grant Brouwer added another eleven. Sheldon was led by Tyler Lode and Luke Van Beek with seven each.

Sibley-Ocheyedan improves to 2-2 on the year and in the Siouxland. Sheldon falls to 0-4 on the year and in the conference.

Up next for the Orabs is a road trip against George-Little Rock on Tuesday. Sibley-Ocheyedan will host Okoboji on Tuesday.
