In the girls game Spencer took a 17-8 first quarter lead and rode that momentum to a 30-12 advantage at halftime.
Kirsten Martindale was the games top scorer with 12 points followed by Heather Williamson with 11. Sheldon was led by Krista Bousema with 6 points.
With the win Spencer improves to 7-5 on the season while Sheldon moves to 4-8 on the year.
In the boys game Sheldon led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter and pushed the lead to tem points at halftime 31-21. in the third quarter Spencer got the Sheldon lead down to one point before the Orabs responded to take a 43-36 lead at the end of the third quarter as they went on to win 53-40.
Sheldon got a game high 18 points from Matt Dykstra with 16 points coming from the floor and two more from the free throw line in two attempts. As a team Sheldon went 8-of-11 at the line for the ballgame. Dykstra’s effort was supported by 9 points from Nate Oostra and 8 points each from Chris Balster, Dallas Ennema and James Gradert.
Spencer was led by Mathew Klemme with 10 points followed by Michael Gabhart with 9.
With the win Sheldon improves to 11-1 for the season while Spencer falls to 7-4 on the year.
Up next for Sheldon will be a home double header Friday night as they welcome Sibley Ocheyedan to Orab Gym.
