The annual Sheldon Orab sports drink scrimmage and fall sports media day is set for this Friday at Sheldon High School and Orab Field. Fans can get their first look at the football and volleyball teams. The volleyball team will scrimmage at 5pm Friday.
The football scrimmages begin at 6:30 at Orab Field beginning with the 9th graders having 15 minutes of running clock for offense followed by another 15 of running clock for defense. Up next will be the JV with 12 minutes of running clock for offense. The varsity will end the night with 20 minutes of running time on offense followed by 20 minutes of running time on defense. The scrimmage will end with 2 minutes, 1 minute and finally: 45 seconds of situational football.
During the evening on Friday the Orab Athletic Booster Club will be taking memberships as well. Also during the break between offense and defense for the varsity the homecoming candidates will be announced. Sheldon will celebrate homecoming September 19th when they play host to Cherokee.
Cross country for the Orabs opens Tuesday September 2nd at Spirit Lake. The volleyball team opens the year Tuesday September 2nd as well at the MOC Floyd Valley invite.
