In the girls game the Orabs led 11-8 and carried a 19-17 lead into halftime. The Warriors pulled in front 30-27 and took control in the fourth quarter to post the win 47-36.
Sioux Center had two players in double figures with Jillian Estes hitting for 12 points and Carrigan Cleveringa adding 10 more.
Sheldon was led by Audrey Gustafson and Krista Bousema who hit for 8 points each. With the win Sioux Center improves to 11-5 in the conference and 13-6 for the season while Sheldon moves to 5-11 in the Siouxland and 5-14 for the season.
In the boy’s game a late three-pointer by Torin Huisman was the difference as Sioux Center came back to win 51-50. The Warriors got off to a 12-0 start and led 17-9 at the end of the first quarter. Sheldon would close to within 24-23 at halftime and took a 37-34 third quarter lead. Sioux Center would outscore Sheldon 17-13 in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Sioux Center got their 10th conference win against 5 losses and is 12-6 on the season. For the Orabs it’s just their second loss of the season with both coming in conference play. The Orab record stands at 13-2 for the conference and 17-2 for the season. Sheldon saw a seven game winning streak come to a close.
Up next for the Orabs will be a home doubleheader against West Lyon on Friday night.
