Sioux Center, Iowa — Colten Smolders, a senior at Sioux Center High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.
Smolders, a 6-0, 280 pound offensive and defensive lineman, was a part of a state runner-up team in 2014 and a state semifinalist in 2013. He totaled 35 tackles during his career with 12 tackles for loss, five quarterback sacks and one interception. He was a two-time all-district honoree.
Colten is the son of Hans and Nancy Smolders. He plans to study agriculture at Dordt College.
