Sheldon Iowa — Thursday marked the 44th running of the Orab boys track and field invite. Kingsley Pierson Woodbury Central claimed the team title at 155 team points. LeMars was next at 121 with Sheldon third at 79.

After the meet we had a chance to talk with Orab Head Coach Justin Albers and asked the coach how the times and distances so far in northwest Iowa meets will match up the numbers in Des Moines at the State Meet.
We also asked the coach what he likes about his team right now.
Finally we asked Albers where he would like to see improvement heading into Districts.

Unity claimed the team title on the girls side at the West Sioux invite Thursday.

First place finishes for Sheldon were turned in by Emma Van Meeteren in the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 11:30.8. Bryn Groff won the 100 meter Hurdles in 16.00. The
Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Bryn Groff, Ashlyn Albrecht, Madison Uhl, Maddy Tolk
won with a time of 01:09. In the wheel chair competition Keri Siebrecht won the shot put with a toss of 11-04.75. She also finished first in the 100 M Dash in 27.18, the
200 M Dash in 54.18 and the 400 M Dash in 01:51.8.
MOC Floyd Valley hosted a Siouxland Conference meet at Landsmeer. Sheldon won the team tile with a 162. Boyden Hull was next at 165 followed by Sioux Center at 166, MOC Floyd Valley at 170 and Central Lyon at 173 to round out the top five. Medalist honors went to Sheldon’s Tyler Merley at 35. Brock De Boer of Sioux Center carded a 36 with Brandt Boekhoutof Central Lyon in at 38 along with Tate Arends of MOC Floyd Valley.

Central Lyon hosted a Siouxland Conference meet at Rock River.MOC Floyd Valley won the team totals with a 186. Central Lyon was second at 207 followed by Sheldon who finished third at 218. Medalist honors went to Josie Van Roekel of MOC Floyd Valley with a 41. Hannah Butler of Okoboji finished second on a tie breaker with Sierra Sievert of Sheldon. Both carded rounds of 42.
