Northwest Iowa — Boys Golf for Class 1A reaches the District round Thursday. Area golfers will gather at Spencer looking to qualify for the State Meet. It’s also opening day for the State Track Meet in Des Moines.
Area Class 1A golfers who advanced from the sectionals last Friday will compete at the District level at the Spencer Golf and Country Club at Spencer.
Individual qualifiers from the sectional at Boyden-Hull at Rolling Hills CC include Medalist: Kyle Baartman Boyden-Hull along with team mates Marcus Rens, Keaton Van Roekel and Chandler Brunsting and Brandt Boekhout of Central Lyon. Qualifying teams from the sectional at Boyden-Hull were Boyden-Hull, West Sioux and Central Lyon.
Individual qualifiers from the sectional at Woodbury Central included Derrick Schorg of Remsen St. Mary’s. Qualifying teams from the sectional at Woodbury Central were host team Woodbury Central, Remsen St. Mary’s and Kingsley-Pierson.
Individual qualifiers from the sectional at Newell-Fonda included Medalist Runner-up Cameron Maxwell of South O’Brien and Cayle Carney of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. Qualifying teams from the sectional at Newell-Fonda were North Union and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.
Class 2A area teams and individuals advancing on to the District round will play at Emerald Hills on Friday May 20th hosted by Okoboji.
