trackNorthwest Iowa — Sioux Center and host team Central Lyon won team titles at the Central Lyon track and field invite held at Dick Null Field Tuesday.


Central Lyon Invite
Central Lyon won the boys title with 130 team points. Sheldon was second at 125. In the girls competition Sioux Center outpointed West Lyon 140-123.

Girls Golf
The Siouxland Conference Meet season began at the Sheldon Golf and Country Club Tuesday. MOC Floyd Valley won the team title at 209 followed by Central Lyon at 229. Sheldon was third on the home course at 235 with a pair of golfers in the top six. Medalist honors went to Brooke Dau of MOC Floyd Valley with a 45. Runner up was her Lady Dutch team mate Alexa Arends at 48. Hannah Butler of Okoboji was third at 49. Sheldon’s Kaitlyn Vote was fourth at 51 tied with Megan Grimes of Sibley Ocheyedan. Kristina Vote of the Orabs was sixth at 53.

2016 Siouxland Conference Girls Golf at Sheldon 4-12-16


Boys Golf
Sheldon won the team title at the Siouxland Conference opener hosted by Sibley Ocheyedan. Sheldon posted a 161 followed by Boyden Hull at 164. MOC Floyd Valley was third at 167. Medalist honors went to Tyler Merley at 37. Runner up was Jaden Snyder of West Lyon at 38. Keaton Van Roekel of Boyden Hull and Tate Arends of MOC Floyd Valley were both at 39 followed by Nick Bomgaars of Sheldon at 40 and Brandt Boekhout of Central Lyon at 41.

Siouxland Conference Boys Golf Results at Sibley Ocheyedan 4-12-16


Unity Christian hosted Trinity Christian at Landsmeer winning 168-228. Medalist honors went to Jaren Brue at 38. The Knight’s Trey Schiebout was the Runner-Up Medalist at 41. Logan Visser was third at 44 with Dylan Groeneweg fourth at 45.
