baseball 3Northwest Iowa — The weekend means tournaments and there were a number of them for both softball and baseball on Saturday. Sheldon was at Hinton for baseball and Okoboji for softball.

Nicole Johnson went 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits.She walked 3 and struck out 6. Alexa Vanden Hall drove in 3 runs while Bryn Groff and Haley Jungers each drove in a pair. Danna schipper drove in 2 runs for West Sioux going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Haley Wagner got the win walking 3 and striking out 3. Nicole Johnson led the offense going 3-for-4 with an rbi and scored twice. Taylor Weber tripled going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sydney Iedema was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored.

South O’Brien 11, Sheldon 0
Taryn Hintz, Katelyn Tewes and Gabby Heeren drove in 2 runs each. Bailey Tjossem tossed a 2 hitter at the Orabs. She walked 2 and struck out 6. Sheldon hits came off the bats of Sydney Iedema and Alexa Vanden Hall. Nicole Johnson took the loss giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits. She walked 1 and struck out 3.
