State Track and Field Day Two

track and field 1Des Moines Iowa — Day two of the State Track and Field Meet is in the books at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Here are the top ten finishes for area athletes.

Class 2A girls 4×200
Western Christian was 3rd in 1:45.46. Team members include Taylor Rus, Jessi DeJager, Emily VanGinkel and Erika Feenstra. Sioux Center was 4th in 1:46.39. Team members include Clare Kortlever, Aubrey Sandbulte, Camryn Cleveringa and Katie TeGrotenhuis. The winning time was 1:45.22.

Class 2A Boys 400 Meter Hurdles

Calvin Korver of Unity was 10th in 55.57. The winning time was 53.17.

Class 2A Girls 400 Meter Hurdles
Brianna VanVeldhuizen of West Lyon was 8th in 1:07.00. The winning time was 1:04.08.

Class 3A Girls Shot Put
Cassie Van Beek of Boyden Hull Rock Valley was 6th with a toss of 38-10.25. The winning distance was 41-04.75 by Brandi Botcher of Spencer.

Class 2A boys discus
Caden Fenchel of Western was 7th with a toss of 150-09. The winning distance was 176-02 by Nick Phelps from Kingsley Pierson Woodbury Central.

Class 2A Girls high jump
Cori DeJong of Western was 3rd at 5-01.00. Anna Kiel of Unity was 10th. The winning jump was 5-4.00.

Class 1A Girls discus
Hope Rasmussen of Central Lyon was 7th with a distance of 116-11. The winning toss was 134-10.

Class 1A Girls Distance Medley Relay
Central Lyon was 6th in 4:24.47. Team members include Becca Roskam, Callie Yeakel, Makayla Witt and Lexie Ramsey. The winning time was 4:12.50.

Class 1A Boys 4×200
Central Lyon was 4th in 1:32.56. Team members include CJ Roths, Pete Menage, Mitch Van Beek and Riley Van Wyhe. The winning time was 1:31.38.

Class 1A Boys Distance Medley Relay
South O’Brien was 5th in 3:42.64. Team members include Cody Paulsen, Kyle Paulsen, Damon Struve and Peyton Brasser. The winning time was 3:36.01.

1A Girls High Jump
Alexis Sonich of Hartley Melvin Sanborn tied for 9th with jump of 4-11.00. The winning height was 5-04.00.
