The Nighthawks Get Win Versus MOC-FV

The Boyden Hull Rock Valley Nighthawks celebrated Rock Valley’s homecoming by beating the MOC-FV Dutchmen 42-0 at Hulst Field in Rock Valley Friday night.
Boyden Hull Rock Valley started the scoring late in the first half when Andrew Van Ginkel found Blake Eichmann for a 6 yard touchdown pass. The score capped a 73 yard drive that lasted 2:39. The Nighthawks gained possession for that drive when Eichmann forced a Stefan Kinsinger interception at the Nighthawk 27. The missed extra point made the score 6-0 with 23.6 left in the first half.
The Nighthawks than distanced themselves from the Dutchmen with a 36 point second half. Boyden Hull Rock Valley scored on the first two possessions of the second half. The first score was on a 75 yard drive which lasted 2:40. Andrew Van Ginkel scored on a 13 yard run. Boyden Hull Rock Valley than added a two point conversion when Luis Ronquillo faked the extra point try and threw a conversion to Dillon Willer. After Van Ginkel forced another Kinsinger interception, he finished off the on the offensive end with a one yard touchdown run. The run finished off a 1:16 32 yard drive. With 7:49 left in the third quarter the Nighthawks led 21-0.
Two exciting touchdowns put the game out of reach for the Dutchmen. Boyden Hull Rock Valley’s Andrew Van Ginkel threw a 56 yard touchdown to Jerod Hansen extending the lead to 28-0. Than Van Ginkel added an 80 yard punt return on the following MOC-FV punt. The score was 35-0 with 10:39 left in the fourth quarter. The Nighthawks finished off the scoring when Dillon Willer blocked a Dutchmen punt, gave the Nighthawks great field position on the Dutch 25. Zach Konz added a 4 yard touchdown run on the 25 yard drive, making the final score 42-0.
Next week the Nighthawks will travel to Cherokee (6-1, 3-1 in District) and face the Braves. MOC-FV (3-4, 2-2 in District) will host Sheldon next week at Korver Field in Orange City.
