Theo Bartman GPAC Special Teams Player of The Week

Northwestern’s Theo Bartman was named GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week as announced by the league office on¬†Monday.

Bartman from Rock Valley was a key component in the 15th-ranked Red Raiders 33-27 overtime win over Nebraska Wesleyan last Saturday. The junior returned four kickoffs for 124 yards, averaging 31 yards per return. Bartman began the second half with a season-best 52-yard kickoff return that helped set up a Northwestern touchdown and later returned another kick for over 30 yards setting up another NWC score. He also rushed for a 17-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Also Monday Aaron Jansen of Orange City was named BSN linebacker of the week as announced by the Beyond Sports Network.

Jansen, a senior linebacker, totaled five tackles, including 4.5 for a loss and four solo stops. He also registered one of the Red Raiders eight sacks on the day and nabbed an interception.

Northwestern will host Midland on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1:30pm for its annual Homecoming game.
