Three Northwestern Football Players Earn BSN Players of The Week Honors

Several Northwestern College football players earned Beyond Sports Network (BSN) players of the week honors after their 57-7 win over Briar Cliff last weekend.
Brandon Smith was named running back of the week after rushing for a career-high 247 yards, the sixth highest single-game total in the program’s history, and four touchdowns. The Red Raiders offensive line, along with tight ends Jacey Hoegh and Taylor Dreise, was named offensive line of the week. They helped pave the way for a Northwestern rushing offense that ran for a school record 475 yards and also set the record with 663 total yards of offense.
Aaron Jansen earned linebacker of the week honors after leading the team with 5.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Northwestern, ranked 16th in the latest NAIA poll, improved to 4-2 in the GPAC, 6-2 overall.
