Tyler Van Beek to Continue Basketball and Baseball Careers at Northwestern

Tyler Van Beek from Sioux Center has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball and baseball careers at Northwestern College next year.

Van Beek is a 6’1” shooting guard who lettered three years for the Sioux Center Warriors. Van Beek was a Siouxland all-conference honorable mention selection as a sophomore, third-team as a junior and second-team as a senior. This past season, Tyler averaged 10.6 points, three rebounds and three assists per contest.  He knocked down 48 three-pointers while shooting an impressive 44% from beyond the arc, leading his team to an 18-5 overall record and a spot in the district final game. Van Beek plans to major in Business Marketing while at Northwestern and is the son of Rodney and Melissa.

Head coach Kris Korver commented “Tyler is a combo guard who shoots the ball very well and knows how to compete. Tyler has been coached well and has played in big games.  We are looking forward to seeing Tyler work hard and improve during his time here.  We are excited he is joining us here at NWC”
