Van Ginkel Headed to Northwestern

Northwestern College logoOrange City, Iowa — Kyle Van Ginkel has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next year.

Van Ginkel is a 6’0”, 210-pound linebacker who played two years for the Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley football team. Van Ginkel posted 81.5 total tackles in earning first team all-state honors while leading his team to the state playoffs as a senior. He accounted for 18 tackles for a loss and totaled 18 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns on offense. Van Ginkel is a two-time all-district selection and also earned second team all-state honors as a junior when he totaled 71 tackles. Van Ginkel plans to major in exercise science at Northwestern and is the son of Henry and Karen.

“Kyle is an extremely talented linebacker,” commented head Northwestern coach Matt McCarty. “He plays with great intensity and tremendous instincts while being coached very well at Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley. I am excited to see the impact that Kyle will have on our defense, our football team and on the Northwestern campus.”
