Village Run, Walk And Roll Coming June First

Runners, walkers & wheelchair operators of all ages are encouraged to join the fun while supporting people with disabilities. Village Northwest Unlimited of Sheldon will be hosting its 8th annual benefit Run, Walk and Roll on Saturday, June 1. This year’s event sponsors are Ag Partners LLC, Demco, HyVee, KT Industries, Maureen Freed Memorial, Ron Drenkow Motors, Sanford Health, Sanford Sheldon, Sheldon Family Dentistry/Dr. Cory Borer, and Siouxland Fabricating.
The chip timing services of All Sport Central will again be used, which will provide fast and accurate finish results. Additional runners are needed and encouraged to participate. There will be a 5K and 10K run and
A 1 mile walk/roll. Medals for those participating in the 5K or 10K will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in 8 different age groups ranging from ages 13 and under to 70 and older. Overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K run will receive a trophy. In addition, all paid participants will receive a specially designed t-shirt made of moisture management fabric.
Pre-registration is encouraged before May 21, 2013. Race packets for 5K and 10K participants, including numbers, t-shirts, chips and maps, should be picked up in the Wansink Center on the grounds of Village Northwest from 4:00pm to 5:30pm on Friday, May 31. Due to the usage of the ChampionChip® timing system please make every attempt to get your packet on Friday because there will be limited time available for packet pick-up on Saturday morning. Packet pickup on Saturday will be from 6:45am to 7:30am.

In addition, participants have the opportunity to obtain pledges from family members, friends and neighbors.
