Warriors Down Orabs in Siouxland Baseball

Sheldon Iowa — Sioux Center brought hot bats and solid pitching to Sheldon and left town with a 13-0 Siouxland Conference baseball win.

The Warriors scored in the first inning as Payton Boone reached on a fielders choice and later scored from second on an rbi single to right by Isaac Vietor.

In the second inning Sioux Center put four runs on the board keyed by a 2 run double by Cade Bleeker and a 2 run single by Payton Boone.

In the third Quinn Byker singled and later scored on a fielders choice off the bat of Kendall Mouw. A 7 run fifth inning brought the game to an early end on the 13-0 score. The final inning was highlighted by a 2 run single from Bleeker and another 2 run single by Vietor.

Vietor got the win striking out 10. He gave up just 2 hits, hit 1 batter and walked 1. Luke Van Beek went the first 4 and a third to take the loss for Sheldon.

Both Sheldon hits were solidly hit with Tyler Johnson going to the centerfield warning track in the first inning and Marshall Kleinhesselink doing the same in the fourth inning.

WIth the win Sioux Center is 6-3 on the season and 4-1 in the conference. Sheldon is 3-4 on the year and 2-2 in the Siouxland. The Orabs return to action on the road against Sibley Ocheyedan on Friday. Sioux Center is back in action Thursday hosting Western Christian.
