Wedel, Wacker Named To NAIA All-Tournament Volleyball Team

Sioux City, Iowa — Two members of the Red Raider volleyball team, Anna Wedel and Lacey Wacker, were named to the 2019 NAIA National Championship All-Tournament team as announced by the national office.

Wedel averaged a remarkable 5.2 kills per set, fifth best at the championship, and hit .358 in the five matches played. The junior recorded a double-double (kills/digs) in the first three matches and hit for double figures in all five. Wedel put down 29 kills in the Red Raiders’ final match, one shy of matching her career-high, in a four-set loss to Jamestown.

Wacker directed a Red Raider offense that hit .277, best among the 32-teams at the championship. The junior ranked seventh with 12.4 assists per set and was third on the team in digs (2.7 per set). Wacker totaled 14 blocks, nearly averaging one per set, and six aces.

Northwestern lost in the quarterfinals to Jamestown and finished 32-2 on the season.
