Western Falls To Alta Aurelia In Substate Baseball

Alta Aurelia is headed back to the Iowa State 2A Baseball Tournament following a 10-0 six inning win over Western Christian Tuesday night in the Substate 1 game played at Spencer.

Western Collected 4 hits off winning pitcher Jaden Holton. Grant Van Bemmel had a pair of doubles. He stoked the first  one in the first inning and the second in the 6th inning. Brandon Vander Stoep had a single in the second inning and a double in the 4th.

Collin Faber opened up for the Wolfpack with Marcus De Jager going the final three and two thirds.

With the loss Western finishes at 15-15 with the District 1 title. Alta Aurelia improves to 23-10 and moves on to State Tournament Play with games beginning already this Friday and Saturday at Principal Park in Des Moines.

In Class 1A Substate 1 it was Algona Garrigan over Storm Lake St Mary’s 7-2. The Substate 2 game went to Lawton Bronson with a 4-1 win over Remsen St Mary’s.
