Western Girls Fall to Tea South Dakota

Tea South Dakota — Tea South Dakota regained the lead late and hit a pair of free throws to make the final 63-60 as the Lady Titans defended the home floor against Western Christian Monday night.

Tea led at all the breaks taking a 19-13 first quarter lead. It was 37-27 at the half before the Wolfpack closed to with in 46-43 at the end of the third quarter. Western would take the lead briefly in the fourth quarter before the Titans regained the lead wrapped it up at the free throw line. The game was won at the charity stripe as Tea went 15-of-21 in the final quarter while Western was going 7-of-9.

Olivia Granstra of the Wolfpack led all scorers with 27 points. She was joined by Ally Postma and Emma Bosema with 10 points each. Tea had three players in double figures as well getting 23 from Olivia Ritter, 20 from Samantha Kloos and 13 from Baily Conrad.

With the win Tea South Dakota is 7-8 for the year while the Wolfpack is now even at 10-10. Western returns to action Tuesday night with their final regular season game. Western is hosting LeMars in the final double header of the season as well. Tom Trauber  will have the coverage on KIWA FM 105.3.

The Western boys have a pair of games left after Tuesday night. They will be at Sioux Falls Christian on Thursday and make up their game against Tea South Dakota on Friday.
