Wolfpack Return to Class 2A Volleyball Championship Match

All-Stater Brooke Wolterstorff had 15 kills to lead 2nd ranked Western Christian back to the Class 2A State Volleyball Championship match with a three set sweep over third-ranked Kuemper Catholic. The set scores were 25-14, 25-13 and 25-23

The win sets up a rematch of last year’s 2A title match as the 43-3 Wolfpack face top-ranked and defending State Champion Dike-New Hartford at 4:00 Saturday. At 44-0 the Wolverines are the last unbeaten team remaining in the state.

Western Christian dominated up front, out blocking Kuemper Catholic 18-7. Haley Moss had six blocks for the Wolfpack.

Brandi Buetel had six kills for the Kuemper Catholic, who ends the year at 33-6.

 

Dike-New Hartford had 18 kills from sophomore all-stater Briana Weber to return to the 2A championship match with a three set sweep over Council Bluffs St. Albert. The set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 25-13.

Dike-New Hartford hit .396 as a team in the match with just seven attack errors. In addition to Weber’s 18 kills and 17 digs, Brooke Morgan added 12 kills.

Council Bluffs St. Albert, who finishes the year at 29-11, received eight kills from Nevada Meis.
