Women’s GPAC Basketball Tournament Pairings

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Concordia will be the number one seed when the 2018 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Postseason Basketball Tournament, presented by Cypress Risk Management, begins on Wednesday, February 21.  The second ranked Bulldogs went 19-1 in the GPAC and 29-1 for the season.  As the number one seed the Bulldogs have secured an automatic berth to the NAIA Women’s Division II National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa, which runs March 7-13 at the Tyson Events Center.  Northwestern is the two seed, Dakota Wesleyan the three seed, and Hastings the four seed.  The top four seeds all host first round games.

Morningside is seeded fifth, Midland is sixth, Dordt is seeded seventh, and Briar Cliff is the eighth seed.  GPAC tiebreakers determined the seeds for the tournament.

The semifinals are on Saturday, February 24, at the highest two remaining seeds.  GPAC Championship Tuesday, presented by Cypress Risk Management, will be on Tuesday, February 27.  The GPAC Postseason Tournament Champion garners an automatic berth to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament (the runner-up gains the berth if the regular season champion (top seed Concordia) wins the postseason).

#5 Morningside (20-10, 13-7) at #4 Hastings (24-5, 15-5), 7pm
#6 Midland (14-16, 9-11) at #3 Dakota Wesleyan (25-5, 16-4), 6pm
#7 Dordt (14-16, 8-12) at #2 Northwestern (21-7, 16-4), 6pm

#8/#1 winner vs. #5/#4 winner, Time TBA
#6/#3 winner vs. #7/#2 winner, Time TBA
