Wynja To Play Soccer and Softball at Dordt

Janae Wynja, senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the softball and soccer programs at Dordt.

Wynja comes to Dordt after a decorated high school career. As a four-sport athlete, Wynja has been part of three state championship teams, and one state runner-up team. On the pitch, Wynja scored three goals with two assists, tallying eight points during her junior campaign. She has earned first-team all-conference honors for the past two seasons for the Wolfpack.

On the softball field, Wynja had 20 hits in 75 at bats during her junior year. She scored 21 runs, including 5 home runs, and had 19 runs batted in. As a sophomore, she had 24 hits in 83 at bats, including 20 runs scored, 2 home runs, and 28 runs batted in. Wynja is a second baseman.

“Janae comes to us from Western Christian High School. We are always excited to have local players join our athletic programs and Janae has a love for softball and soccer and we look for her continued growth through both programs,” said Dordt College softball coach Jeff Zomer.

Janae is the daughter of Scott and Melanie Wynja of Sioux Center. She intends to study Elementary Education at Dordt.
