Chanda Zomermaand finished 24th in leading the Red Raiders in their spring season debut at the CSM/Midland Invite played Thursday at the Miracle Hill Golf Course in Omaha, Neb.
Zomermaand carded an 87 and finished 24th in the 12-team, 76-player field. The sophomore from Sioux Center has finished in the top 25 in all seven events played this year.
Northwestern finished 11th with a 382, two shots in back of Nebraska Wesleyan (380). Briar Cliff ran away with the team title, shooting a 310, 30 strokes in front of the host team, College of Saint Mary (340). Concordia (343), Doane (352) and Peru State (355) round out the top five.
Hayley Carlson tied for 43rd place with a 94 and Anna Perrenoud tied for 50th with a 96. Abby Vander Laan (T67th-105), Samantha Vander Velde (70th-107) and Morgan Roberts (66th-103) closed out the Red Raider scores.
Northwestern will next play in the Dordt Invite on April 12 at the The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa.
