Chamber Director Also Tenders Resignation From SCDC

Sheldon, Iowa — Recently, Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation Development Director Curt Strouth announced his resignation. Now, SCDC Chamber Coordinator Ashley Nordahl has announced that she will also be leaving the SCDC office.

SCDC Board President Justin Jonas tells us that Nordahl recently announced her resignation after a year and a few months in her role. He says the board wants to thank Nordahl for her work with SCDC and wish her the best going forward.

Jonas says these two resignations have nothing in common other than timing. He says they have had more turnover in the Chamber Director position than they would like to experience. And because of this, Jonas says the board is taking this opportunity to evaluate their organizational structure in an attempt to reduce this turnover.

He also tells us the SCDC board is working diligently on a transition plan, and he says they have already made what he calls “some positive strides in the right direction.” He says that their goal is to ensure that all community events scheduled for this summer go on without a hitch, that all development projects continue on as planned, and that their membership is “served at the highest level possible.”

He says the board is very fortunate to have Brandi Fuerstenberg in the office, and says she will provide stability during this transition and will be there for the SCDC membership to answer questions and help execute the day-to-day operations.

Nordahl’s last day in the position was Thursday, June 29th.
