Lela Mae Paulsen, age 90 of Hartley, IA, passed away at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Visitation will be held at the Hartley Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery near Hartley. The Hartley Funeral Home in Hartley is in charge of the arrangements for 90 year-old Lela Mae Paulsen of Hartley, IA.

Marla Petersen, age 75 of Hartley, IA passed away at her home in Hartley on Sunday, June 24, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hartley.

Visitation will be held at the Hartley Funeral Home in Hartley on Friday, July 6th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.

Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service on Saturday, at Pleasant View Cemetery near Hartley.

James “Jim” Vaupel, 76 of George, IA died Thursday, June 28, 2018 suddenly at his home rural George, IA.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Zoar Presbyterian Church rural George, IA, with Rev. John Pea, officiating.

Family and friends are asked to gather at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George at 9:30 a.m. and we will travel in procession to the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George for a 10:00 a.m. burial. Military honors by Jack Sauter American Legion Post No. 404.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 1st from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 – 700 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

Helen Roemen, age 92 of Rock Rapids died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Rock Rapids Health Center in Rock Rapids, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 30th at Holy Name Catholic Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Father Francis Makwinja as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Visitation will be Friday, June 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Also there will be a Rosary service at 6:45 PM followed by a Vigil service at the funeral home Friday evening.

Fred Falkena

Mr. Fred Falkena, age 80, of Hospers, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Orange City Area Health System.

There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, June 29, at 5:00 pm, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hospers. The Rev. Dr. Brian Janssen will officiate. Following the celebration, there will be a supper and fellowship at the Hospers Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospers Firefighters Association and the Hospers Ambulance Service.

Mr. Raymond Weiss, age 90, of Orange City, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 29, at 11:00am, at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Dr. Brian Keepers and the Rev. Robert De Boer will officiate. There will be a graveside service, at 10:00am, at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Thursday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Prairie Ridge Care Center.
