So are most walks cleared now?? Oh thats right there are still side walks that need to be put in place! So before enforcing this rule why not get sidewalks enforced! I still dont know why the guy across from the middle school doesn’t need to put in walks or the school on the other side of E.6th street by the ballfields. Empty lot onwers I can see but still. So we need to have a starting point to enforce things and then follow through with others, but we can’t do one without the other.

And to be neighborly, someone living near these unshoveled sidewalks could take about two minutes, to put the snow shovel down and run it through their sidewalk snow down one time, and back up one time. Then you would have done your good deed for the day. The amount of snow we’ve had would mean an extra minute of your time.

My next door neighbor was having back problems last year. And I scooped it one time down and back and her sidewalk looked great.

Cathy ~ Yes that is what started this conversation ~ My original comment I thought stated this and so did a others ~ Sidewalks have not been cleared ~ There could be a good reason ~ Several Reasons ~ Do people think of the reasons why ???? NOOOOOOOOOOO ~ There are to quick to point fingers and lay blame ~ As for Lights ~ People celebrate Christmas yes in December but others celebrate it when it is convenient for them and their family’s. Their are so many reasons why the sidewalks are not cleared and why the light are not down ~ Who are we do decide what is right and what is wrong for these situations ? When you are in their shoes ……..walk and see how it is and how far it may get you ~ Someday we may all be in need and then who will you ask for help ?
P.S. My Disabled Grandson is the reason why I have light on 365 days of the year 24 hours a day and 7 days a week ~ WHY ? Because he says ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh gramma ………..pretty !!!

I feel this person was more concerned about the sidewalk “rule” check the title, I do agree if the town is going to pursue the clearing of sidewalks they should do it. And the lites, I feel we celebrate Christmas in Dec. so if you can’t take them down, turn them off, so we can look forward to them again in Dec. Cath

First part is @ Chris ~ Maybe they had help putting them up and no one has gotten around to helping them take them down ~ As for why did they…….. you ask? Maybe……… just maybe……..THEY LIKE THEM ~ IT MAKES THEM FEEL GOOD ~ Just because your older does not mean you cant have them up and enjoy them.

Try taking away my HOLIDAY lights and I am going to be very cranky ~ Just ask my husband LOL :o) Something as simple as Holiday lights can make a person feel good and is a pretty easy, inexpensive thing to enjoy ~ When someone else starts to pay my electric bill then you can come shut the darn things off !! Until then you have the choice to complain about it, drive another way to work or simply just don’t look at them and pay attention to the road ~ After all…….The streets are snowy and icy out there ~
