Great Job Ladies

Congratulations to the area high school girl’s basketball teams representing Northwest Iowa at the state tournament next week in Des Moines. ¬†All the best to the MOC-Floyd Valley Dutchmen, Western Christian Wolfpack and the Unity Christian Knights.

    Don’t forget the other schools that did not make it they worked hard and played hard too. They all should recieve praise for all their hard work. Every one can not win. You do the best you have and you are a winner too.

      The post wasn’t necessarily about winning and hard work. I am guessing it was about representing our area to the rest of the state. Whether it be an athletic team, fine arts group, or an individual who represents your school at a student political event, those students represent us with gracious behavior. While it is important for parents to provide a positive atmosphere for their children, too much praise for “second place” can make it more difficult to teach & learn humbleness & adversity.

    I am so impressed that the two Orange City schools had a joint celebration for their girls state basketball teams. What an example of community support and unity!
