He Was Content

Last week had gone to a funeral of an older man and yes the pallbearers names were listed and his wife who died 19 years ago and I knew the couple and they were humble couple but on his obituary were thee words I will never forget and will try my utmost to live up to the three words He was Content. What a witness to the younger generation and older who now have to have a least a 4 car garage or a huge machine shed to put the things that make them happy for a short time . The man may have been 89 but wisdom for his children and grandchildren to live up to and remind me each day to be content with what the good Lord gave me.

    I think we need to all take some time to listen to the older generation. Might even do our government some good to realize again what those people went thru during the depression & how it was very hard but they learned to live with much less & be content. But, I also think the teaching to do with less needs to start in the home.

    What a wonderful tribute to this man’s life. We should all be so fortunate to be remembered by these three simple words.
