New road off Country Club Road in Sheldon

Date posted - May 7, 2014

Is it me or….but it looks as though the new road off Country Club Road appears to be slightly bent? Not straight that is. It looks fine if you’re coming off East 9th Street, turning onto Country Club and then turning onto the new road. But how about turning onto the new road from the north, seems odd to me at this point. But then again so do some of the other roads in town. Also why the road so close to the two properties? It looks like it goes straight down, turns around the back of the one property owner bf you even get to a developed lot. More to come? Just wandering …….. around that area lately that is.

    There was a crooked man……

I have heard people say that there is a crookedness to all the streets east of Washington. I went to Googleearth and looked at Sheldon from above, and Washing to the east is correct. Its straight and goes along with highway 18. West of Washington, its all catty wampus, it is even with Old HWY 60, which means its out of square with hwy 18 and all of the east part of town. I had originally thought that perhaps the country club road was trying to get straightened back up. But looking at Sheldon from the air, its the area between hwy 60 and Washington that are crooked.
