Village Northwest Says Thank You

Letter to the Editor
From all the consumers, staff and Board of Directors at Village Northwest Unlimited, we would like to say THANK YOU to all who attended our annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3. The weather couldn’t have been better and the crowd was huge! We were thrilled with a great crowd at the carnival booths and activities, the food court and during the entertainment. The Independence Day Celebration is a great opportunity for us to provide an enjoyable evening of family entertainment and show our appreciation for the support we receive throughout the year from the community of Sheldon and other local communities, families and friends of the Village.
It is impossible to know how many thousands of people enjoy the activities, both on and off the grounds. We are grateful to those who visited our grounds and patronized our food court, hydration stations, Fantasia’s ice cream parlor, children’s carnival booths, horse drawn wagon rides and the new area for teenagers, including the Bungee Run, Velcro Wall and Skee Ball areas. The funds generated from these areas are used for our spectacular fireworks display. We want to thank all of the Bill Riley Talent Search and Village Fear Factor contestants, judges and emcees for their participation. We were grateful for the support of HyVee in Sheldon, Pizza Ranch in Sheldon, Kelly’s Catering from Hospers, Subway from Sheldon and Kettlekorn from Inwood for providing a variety of wonderful food and giving a portion back to support the Celebration. We are also thankful for all of the volunteers who donate their time to help make the evening a success, including, but not limited to: the Sheldon Fire Department, SCAT team members, and the Sheldon EMA team, as well as those who donated other items, including: Van Wyk Trucking, O’Brien County Implement, those who donated golf carts and those who brought in their pets for our Petting Zoo. Thanks to the many additional vendors who supported the event: Mr. Twister, the news media and radio who partnered with us, kiddie train/ferris wheel vendor, Orange City Sanitation, the horse drawn wagon owners, and Carolan Rentals for their inflatables. Finally, we were so grateful to have Casey Muessigmann and his band as our headliner and have heard wonderful comments from everyone about his performance. What a special treat to have so much local talent kick off the evening with the Bill Riley Talent Search Contest and top it off with a celebrity from The Voice!
A special thank you to our 380 dedicated staff for the hours they put in to make this a successful evening, as well as our Village businesses for their help. We are looking forward to seeing you on the grounds of Village Northwest Unlimited on Wednesday, July 3, 2014, with even more new activities being planned!
