Beef May Gain Endorsement By Dietary Guidelines Committee

(IARN) — Dietary guidelines from the United States government have shied away from stating that the best diet for Americans is high in fruits and vegetables and low in beef and processed meats.

Current committee meetings are reviewing new research, some funded by the Beef Checkoff and establishment of dietary guidelines for children to 24 months of age and older.

We look at the possibility of endorsement of a diet with lean beef as a larger component to fill the need for protein.
