Northwest Iowa — Farmers, landowners, renters, and others are invited to attend farmland leasing meetings coming up in the state.
Iowa State University Extension Farm Management Specialist Gary Wright tells us about them.
He tells us what to expect if you attend one of the meetings.
He says there are a lot of subjective factors for leasing contracts and rent rates that also need to be considered, and they’ll discuss those as well.
There’s a meeting coming up in Le Mars on August 8th, and one in Orange City on August 10th. Wright says you can just call the extension office in the county of the meeting you’re interested in to register. But, he says they won’t turn anyone away. He does say it’s best to register so they have enough materials to go around.
