Senator Grassley Calls For More Funding To Value-Added Producer Grants

IABRN — Finding new innovations for agricultural products is a top priority to help drive up demand for our products. However, these innovations don’t come free or even cheaply. The USDA offers the Value-Added Producer Grant Program (VAPG) to help offset some of these costs for producers. There is a call for more funding to be added to the program.

Senator Grassley joined with a bipartisan group of Senators to send a letter to the Senate and the House Agriculture Appropriations Committee to secure more funding for the VAPG. He partnered with Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Back in 2000, Senator Grassley helped create the program which has been reauthorized in the 2018 Farm Bill.
