IARN — As margins become even tighter for producers and challenges become greater, protecting your crops becomes more challenging each year.
The United Soybean Board (USB) and the Soy Checkoff took time to highlight multiple practices to keep producers vigilant in the battle against yield-robbing pests, weeds, and diseases. This was the focus when the USB held “PEST Week”, June 22nd – 26th.
“PEST” stands for Pest Elimination Strategies and Tactics. The United Soybean Board partnered with university experts, weed scientists, and other advocates to highlight practices to help combat pest, disease, and weed resistance while not sacrificing crop management. Tim Venverloh is the USB Vice President of Sustainability. He talks about the importance of managing resistance and why the soy checkoff is making investments in these areas.
