Rock Rapids Man Joins U.S. Meat Export Federation Board

Rock Rapids, Iowa (IABRN) — The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) elected their new officers during the Strategic Planning Conference, last week. Algona hog producer Conley Nelson stepped down as the Chairman. He was succeeded by Cevin Jones of Idaho.

The departure of Conley Nelson does not mean Iowa is no longer represented on the board, however. Rock Rapids producer Dean Meyer joined the board as the secretary-treasurer. Meyer raises corn, soybeans, livestock, and is a director of the Iowa Corn Growers Association.

Cevin Jones has chaired the Federation of State Beef Councils, served on the Beef Promotion Operating Committee, and served as a leader in Idaho. He became involved with USMEF at a young age.
