RIDES Announces Unlimited RIDES for Elderbridge Recipients

Spencer, Iowa — There’s some good news for older northwest Iowans that “take the bus.”

According to Rides transportation, they and Elderbridge are announcing that effective on Monday, October 11th, all qualifying Elderbridge passengers have access to unlimited rides per month.

Hugh Lively, Rides CEO, tells us that Rides is honored to serve the communities of northwest Iowa and the organization hopes this will give back to the communities. He says he has deep gratitude to Elderbridge for their relationship, as Elderbridge is making this possible with their funding.

Rides officials tell us that to qualify for Elderbridge rides, an individual must be over 60 years of age and must have completed the annual Elderbridge Intake forms. Elderbridge Intake forms are available by contacting Rides at 712-262-7920 or 800-358-5037 and talking with Andy Woiwood or by emailing him. Rides says these forms can be completed over the phone and only take a few minutes of your time.

They say these trips may be used for all daily life needs, including visiting a friend, medical appointments, and grocery shopping.

Rides encourages eligible passengers to participate and asks that you call the Rides office and speak with Woiwood.

They do remind us that Elderbridge trips have a suggested $2.00 per trip donation.

If you are new to Rides, they tell us they would be pleased to bring a bus for you to see and to feel comfortable with before your first trip.

For more information on Rides you can call 800-358-5037, visit them on the web at www.nwiarides.org or follow them on Facebook at NWIARides.
