SUMMARY:Avenue of Flags Volunteers Needed & Group Photo for Legion's 100th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:In Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary\, as well as the 40th Anniversary of the Avenue of Flags\, flags will be displayed at the Sheldon City Park. They are going to be put out on Saturday\, July 20th\, weather permitting. Volunteers are needed to help put the flags out at 7:00 a.m. and taken back down at 5:30 p.m; 30+ volunteers are needed. If you are able to help\, please meet at the City Park. \nYour help is greatly appreciated! \nIn addition\, the Sheldon American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary would like to invite all veterans\, auxiliary members\, and family members to come to the Legion Building at the Sheldon City Park for a group photo at 4:30 pm\, and ice cream to follow.

DESCRIPTION:The O’Brien County Conservation Board has been offering a variety of events to celebrate space this year.  The highlight for the summer will be the “Celebrate the Lunar Landing” event.  This come-and-go event will be held on Saturday\, July 20 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Prairie Heritage Center\, 4931 Yellow Avenue.  There will be hands-on activities which can be enjoyed by all ages.  Come out to the center and explore different aspects of the moon and space. \nFor more information about the event\, contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
