DESCRIPTION:Seasons Center for Behavioral Health and Autumn’s Center are hosting the eighth annual Winter Games Free Kids’ Carnival on Saturday\, January 25\, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Bedell Family YMCA in Spirit Lake\, Iowa\, located at 1900 41st Street. \nAttendees can choose from many different activities\, including: face painting\, carnival games\, inflatables\, rock climbing wall\, and a craft table. Attendees can expect this year: an offering of thirty-minute classes by Kindermusik at the Lakes\, a craft activity led by Pearson Lakes Art Center\, two face painters\, a balloon-twister\, new games\, and more inflatables. Families are encouraged to register (for free) for the Kindermusik classes ahead of time by visiting https://signup.com/go/KSLskVG. \n“We look forward to putting on this free family event each year during the Okoboji Winter Games\,” said Katie Ping\, Marketing and Events Coordinator at Seasons Center. “The carnival is a great way to provide outreach and resources to those who may benefit from our services and programs.” \nA lunch will be served by the Girl Scouts Troops #10128 & #10499 who are raising money for a trip to Savannah\, Georgia this year. \nLast year\, just over 1\,200 children and their families attended the annual kid-friendly event. SUMMARY:"Take a Closer Look" Program
DESCRIPTION:The O’Brien County Conservation Board is offering people of all ages the opportunity to “Emerse in Nature – Spend Time Outdoors.”  This 2020 outdoor series will offer a monthly experience for people to connect with natural spaces around them.  The programs will involve only as much physical activity as each person wishes to expend.  The events will provide a block of time for participants to connect with the natural world around them. \nThe first in the series is called “Take a Closer Look.”  It will be held on Saturday\, January 25 at 1:00 p.m.  Meet at the Prairie Heritage Center at 4931 Yellow Ave\, Peterson.  The presentation will begin indoors with an overview of what to expect as one slows down to really observe nature.  Dress or bring appropriate clothing for heading outdoors.  Snowshoes will be provided\, if you wish.  Bring a camera or sketch materials.  Most of all\, bring your sense of adventure! \nFor more information\, call the Prairie Heritage Center at 712-295-7200.
