DESCRIPTION:Following the library’s tradition of offering a fun event during the month of August\, we will be doing a “Be a Chalk Star” from Monday\, August 3rd – Thursday\, August 6th\, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. \nIndividuals or groups can sign up for a sidewalk square and add fun chalk art anytime during the Monday through Thursday time frame. Chalk will be provided and prizes will be given to all participants. \nFor more information\, please call the Sibley Public Library at 712-754-2888.

SUMMARY:“If These Rocks Could Talk” Program
DESCRIPTION:The O’Brien County Conservation Board is looking forward to hosting guided/self-guided experiences at our parks this summer.  Public programming will be taking on a new look this summer.  Join the naturalist for a different kind of outdoor fun. \n“If These Rocks Could Talk” is the next program in the summer series.  It will be held at the Prairie Heritage Center on Thursday\, August 6 from 4:00 until 6:30 p.m.  This program takes a look a different types of rocks from collections as well as around the center. \nMeet that naturalist under the picnic shelter by the shed between these hours.  The naturalist will welcome you and your group to give you an introduction and instructions.  Your group must not include more than ten participants.  Take-home materials will be provided\, and stations will be marked along the trail for your enjoyment.  If at any point\, your group encounters another along the trail\, please announce your presence and allow a safe passing distance. \nThe naturalist looks forward to helping you enjoy and explore the outdoors.  Families are encouraged to attend together.  Look forward to more of these types of programs during Summer 2020. \nCall the Prairie Heritage Center – 712-295-7200 for more information. \n
