SUMMARY:Northwestern College Music Showcase Concert
DESCRIPTION:Northwestern College will present the Music Department Showcase Concert on Friday\, Oct. 2\, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public. \nThe concert will consist of music from Northwestern’s Symphonic Band\, A cappella Choir\, Orchestra\, Women’s Choir and Heritage Singers. The ensembles will be performing a variety of pieces\, including Eric Whitacre’s “Hurt” performed by the A cappella Choir\, Henry Purcell’s “Chacony in G minor” performed by the Orchestra and Philip Lawson’s “William Tell Overture” performed by the Heritage Singers. \nThree student soloists will be featured during the concert: senior Lauren Johnson\, winner of the McGilvra Keyboard Scholarship; junior Ashley Van Ravenswaay\, winner of the Ritsema Family Instrumental Scholarship; and sophomore Katie Struck\, winner of the Cyndy Rowenhorst Vocal Scholarship. \nIn order to protect both the musicians and those attending\, audience members will be required to wear a face mask\, and family groups and individuals will be seated in designated spots in order to physically distance in the chapel.
