DESCRIPTION:In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week of October 9-15\, 2022. Join NFPA® in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW). This year’s FPW campaign\, “Fire will not wait. Plan your escape™\,” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires. \nToday’s homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Your ability to get out of a home during a fire depends on early warning from smoke alarms and advance planning. \nOn October 13th\, the Sheldon Fire Company is inviting you and your family to an Open House at the Fire Station from 5pm to 7pm. We will be serving hamburgers grilled by the O’Brien County Cattlemen\, served with chips and homemade bars for a freewill donation. Fire safety activities for the kids will be available and you will be able to view the fire trucks and the new ladder truck up close. \nThe Sheldon Firefighters have purchased one hundred smoke detectors to give away. Limit one per residence. \nAll proceeds will be going towards the purchase of a new gear washer/extractor and updating our thermal imaging cameras. \nWe hope to see you there!
