DESCRIPTION:The Sheldon Public Library is holding a photo contest! \nWe are searching for local photography to beautify the walls of the newly renovated library. Professional and amateur photographers can consider shots from a favorite outdoor space around Sheldon\, a memorable Sheldon event\, or a shot showing the wonder of our changing seasons. \nThe Sheldon Library Board will choose the winning photographs at the February meeting\, so make sure to submit your digital photo by 5:00 pm February 19th! \nAll photographers will need to sign a waiver upon submission and the winners will enjoy a name and location plate next to their art once it’s hung! Please make sure that photo resolution is high enough to still be a quality image when enlarged to 2’x3′ dimensions.

DESCRIPTION:One of the first flowers of spring\, the daffodil is the symbol of hope.  You can purchase a bunch of daffodils for $10.00\, a bunch and a vase for $15.00\, or a 4-inch potted dainty for $10.00.  All orders are pre-paid. SUMMARY:Nature’s Art – Color Hike
DESCRIPTION:The natural world is filled with color\, shape\, and design.  In 2019\, the O’Brien County Conservation Board will be hosting a monthly Nature’s Art series to engage people of all ages in looking at nature through an artistic lens. \nThe next program in the series is “Icy Art” which will be held at the Prairie Heritage Center on Saturday\, February 9.  The event begins at 2:00 p.m. Participants will create two different types of projects to take home. Capture the essence of winter\, and sample some different art techniques. You may be surprised to recognize the many colors in the winter landscape. \nThere is no reservation required.  This program is suitable for all ages.  Call the Prairie Heritage Center – 712-295-7200 for more information.

St. Pat’s PAT is hosting this event on Saturday\, February 9th\, 2019 at the eagles Club in Sheldon. \nCost is $10 per person with the option to spend more with jail/bail\, mulligans and stacking your team. Prizes for the winning team.  There will also be a prize for the best themed table decoration/team costume. Teams that pre-register by Saturday\, February 2nd will receive 1 free “Get out Jail” card. \nDoors open at 6:00 pm for registration and table decorating. Trivia starts at 7:00.
