DESCRIPTION:March 22 & March 23 \nCamp Autumn (4233 Yew Ave\, Sutherland\, IA) \nRegistration Link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/134549572393 \nTIMES & DATES:\nMonday\, March 22nd\, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM\nTuesday\, March 23rd\, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM \nMASKS REQUIRED; LUNCH\, SNACKS\, AND WATER PROVIDED! \nAt a LivingWorks ASIST workshop\, participants will learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs\, providing a skilled intervention\, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two knowledgeable\, supportive trainers will guide participants through the course\, ensuring participant comfort and safety. \nOver the course of their two-day workshop\, ASIST participants learn to:\n– Understand the ways that personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions;\n– Provide guidance and suicide first aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs;\n-Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it;\n– Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at large;\n– And recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention including life-promotion and self-care.
