SUMMARY:Area Memorial Day Services
DESCRIPTION:ALVORD will have an Ave of Flags at the cemetery\, but there will be no services this year. \nASHTON 9:30-10:30 AM Service at the Legion; 10:30-11:00 AM cemetery service \nBOYDEN Legion Memorial Day Services will be held at the Demco Community Center on Monday\, May 29 at 9:30 a.m. The speaker will be from the Sioux Falls Veterans Community Project. VCP is dedicated to supporting every man or woman who took the oath for our country\, including tiny houses for homeless veterans. Refreshments will be served. All donations taken will go to VCP the Sioux Falls tiny houses project. Poppies will be available at the local business and before the services. All volunteers are welcome to help the Boyden Legion and Auxiliary decorate the graves of Veterans for Memorial Day weekend. This will be done on Friday\, May 26 at 10 a.m. Meet at the Boyden Cemetery at 10 a.m. if you can help. \nMELVIN American Legion Post 470 Memorial Day services will be held at Baker cemetery two miles east and two miles north of Melvin\, Iowa at 10:30 AM. Bring lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather\, ceremonies will be held in the American Legion Community Center in Melvin. \nSHELDON The Memorial Day Service will be in the high school auditorium on Monday at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Jacob Sandholm\, who is the Youth Director at Sheldon United Methodist Church. \nSIBLEY 9:00 AM at the Holman Township Cemetery.
