DESCRIPTION:The Sioux County Conservation Foundation is hosting a traveling exhibit at the Prairie Woods Nature Center now through the end of May. \nThe exhibit is on the Tallgrass Prairie and is located in the Meeting Room on the main floor of the Nature Center. This exhibit is interactive for all ages. \nMeasure your height against plants and roots\, identify some common plants and learn their medicinal uses\, learn about the history of the bison and the suppression of the Plains Indians\, the role of fire in prairie management\, and more!

SUMMARY:Northwestern College Theater Camp Registration Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Northwestern College will host a summer theatre camp for high school students Sunday June 22nd through Thursday\, June 26th. \nOpen to students in grades 9-12\, the camp will be led by the college’s award-winning theatre professors\, who are experienced actors\, directors\, playwrights and technicians. Northwestern theatre students will also participate and serve as mentors. \nA camp fee of $375 covers the instruction\, room and board\, and access to campus facilities—including the theatres\, scene and costume shops\, and makeup and dressing rooms of the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center. There’s a $25 discount for returning campers or for local campers who choose not to stay in the dorms. \nThe campers will begin each day with theatre warmups and exercises\, followed by workshops on theatre skills such as acting\, stage movement and costume design. The afternoon will provide time for script memorization\, improvisation and scene work. The days will close with evening activities and community time in the residence halls. SUMMARY:Cherokee Ride Runners Spring Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:The Cherokee Ride Runners Spring Rendezvous will be May 2nd\, May 3rd\, May 4th with a school day on Friday\, May 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m at the Licklider Shooting Complex on Little Sioux Road in Cherokee. \nThe event includes all re-enactions from 1740 and the 1880’s. Come and enjoy living history! \nThis event is free to attend. There will also be a potluck meal Saturday Night along with a fundraising auction the same night. \nOther events include Hawk and Knife throw\, various shooting events (you will be in charge of posting and pulling your own targets on the range)\, the Outlaw Hawk Throw (must have a handle and can be thrown with one hand and there are no explosives allowed) \nFor campers\, there is limitied water and you will be in charge of hauling out your own trash.
