Please make sure that photo resolution is high enough to still be a quality image when enlarged to 2’x3′ dimensions.

SUMMARY:12th Annual Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:Sheldon Police Department / SCAT and Fire Department / EMA will compete to see which department can recruit the most blood donors for the community’s blood supply during the 12th Annual “Heroes Behind the Badges.” \nThis fun competition between the departments will be held on two different dates and locations beginning with Tuesday\, February 5th at Village Northwest Unlimited from 7:30 am to 10:20 am and Sanford Sheldon Medical Center from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm on the same day. \nThe Heroes event will continue with a blood drive on Monday\, February 25th from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sheldon Community Services Building.  The public is encouraged to designate their blood donation in honor of the department of their choice.  The department with the most donations will receive the traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year. \nDonors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form)\, weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation. \nFor more information about the Heroes Behind the Badges event log onto www.cbblifeblood.org  or call Sheldon Chamber and Development at 712-324-2813\, Sanford Sheldon Medical Center at 712-324-6035.

DESCRIPTION:Strap on your snowshoes or boots – depending on the ground cover – and enjoy a stroll through the crisp winter evening air.  The O’Brien County Conservation Board is holding a Full Moon Hike on Tuesday\, February 19.  Meet at the Prairie Heritage Center at 6:30 p.m. for a hike along the path.  The full moon should be rising\, stars should be crisp in the dark sky\, and often the sounds of coyotes and owls fill the air. \nDress in sturdy shoes and warm clothes.  Come out and explore the natural world in the cover of darkness!    If there is enough snow on the ground\, snowshoes will be available for use.  The activity is appropriate for people of all ages and provided at no charge. \nFor more information\, contact the Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.

DESCRIPTION:The River Valley Players are excited to present the musical “Curtains” on Fri.\, Feb. 22nd and Sat.\, Feb. 23rd at 7:30 PM\, and Sun.\, Feb. 24th at 2:00 PM! \nCurtains is a parody of 1950s “whodunnit” theater mysteries\, where a lone detective\, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi (played by RVP newbie\, Brandon Lenderink — SHS Choir Director) investigates a series of murders that take place behind the scenes of a fictional 1950s cowboy musical\, Robbin’ Hood. The cast of Robbin’ Hood is forced to stay inside the theater while Lieutenant Cioffi unravels the mystery\, getting involved with the show and falling in love with ingenue Niki Harris (played by RVP veteran Jessica Van Roekel) in the process. \nCurtains is a western\, murder mystery\, and romantic comedy all wrapped up in a musical\, complete with singing and dancing – what could be more fun than watching locals share their talents on stage? \nTickets for the public are on sale now. SUMMARY:12th Annual Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:Sheldon Police Department / SCAT and Fire Department / EMA continue in their competition to see which department can recruit the most blood donors for the community’s blood supply during the 12th Annual “Heroes Behind the Badges.” \nThe Heroes event continues with a blood drive on Monday\, February 25th from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sheldon Community Services Building.  The public is encouraged to designate their blood donation in honor of the department of their choice.  The department with the most donations will receive the traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year. \nDonors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form)\, weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation. \nFor more information about the Heroes Behind the Badges event log onto www.cbblifeblood.org  or call Sheldon Chamber and Development at 712-324-2813.
